The dough prepared according to this recipe turns out airy, very delicious, and will always come in handy during fasting. Such dough is suitable for buns, pies with various fillings, and pizza. If you are making unsweet dough, the amount of sugar should be reduced by half. Baked goods made from this dough remain soft and airy even the next day.
Water
1.5 cups
Flour
3.5-4 cups
Sugar
1/2 cup
Salt
1/2 tsp
Sunflower Oil
1/2 cup (or olive oil)
Yeast
25 g (fresh)
To prepare lenten yeast dough, dissolve the yeast in warm water, add sugar, salt, and mix well.
Then gradually add sifted flour and knead a not very stiff dough.
At the end of kneading, add vegetable oil and knead until the dough stops sticking to your hands and the bowl. It should be uniform and not too stiff. Sprinkle the finished dough with flour, cover with a towel, and place it in a warm draft-free place.
When the dough rises, punch it down and let it rise again.
When lenten yeast dough rises a second time, it is ready for baking.
