GOST Standard Cake

Recipe for this cake is the ancestor of all cake variations. It has the beloved taste of the old Soviet times. Important: all ingredients should be at room temperature. The cake turns out soft, moderately crumbly, with a lot of raisins... Simply delicious!

To prepare the GOST Standard Cake, beat the soft butter until fluffy (5-6 min) until it whitens.
Then add powdered sugar in portions and beat again for 8-10 min. The mixture should turn into an elastic cream.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly each time.
Sift flour 2 times. Mix with starch, baking powder, and add to the butter-egg mixture. Beat everything with a mixer for 1 min until smooth. Add raisins to the dough and gently fold in using a spatula.
Grease a baking pan with butter, dust with flour (shake off the excess), and pour the batter. If using a non-stick pan, there's no need to grease it.
Bake the GOST Standard Cake in a preheated oven (350°F) for about 1 hour. Check for doneness with a toothpick – the cake is ready if it comes out dry.
You can bake this cake in a bread maker (just like I did). I used program №11 "Baking only". The cake baked for 1 hour 10 min (Kenwood BM 250 bread maker)
