French Toast

French Toast - фото рецепта
This recipe is familiar to all of us. Bread mixed with milk and eggs, then fried in a skillet. This dessert or snack is popular in many countries and has different names. In England, it's called "French toast", in Germany, it's known as "Armer Ritter", which means "Poor Knight". Perhaps because this dish does not require special financial expenses, it is easy and quick to prepare. As a result, we get light toasts with a caramelized crust that pair perfectly with morning tea or coffee. This "French toast" is now offered in restaurants as a dessert, enhanced with the aroma of cinnamon.
Cream
1 1/3 cups
Eggs
2 egg yolks
Bread
6 slices (white or brioche, 3/4-inch thick)
Milk
1/3 cup
Sugar
1/4 cup (plus brown sugar for sprinkling in the skillet)
Rum
1 tsp (or brandy)
Vanilla sugar
1/2 packet
Butter
To make French toast, whisk together milk, cream, sugar, rum, and egg yolks in a bowl. Take bread slices and trim off the crusts. Dip the pieces into the creamy mixture and leave for 30 minutes. Flip them occasionally to ensure they soak well on all sides.
Melt butter in a skillet and sprinkle with brown sugar. Carefully transfer a piece of bread to the skillet. Fry until golden brown on both sides.
If you don't have brown sugar, white sugar will also work.
The most delicate, creamy French toasts are ready. Serve them with fresh berries, jam, or simply dust with powdered sugar.
