This bright and delicious dessert can be used as a decoration for a cake or pastries, or simply served with coffee or tea. The recipe is simple and can be handled by any hostess, and to add more color to this dessert, use colored chocolate!

Oranges
4-5 pieces
Sugar
2 1/2 cups
Vanilla sugar
2 tablespoons
Water
1 1/4 cups
Chocolate
7-9 ounces
Cinnamon
1 stick (optional)
To make caramelized oranges in chocolate, slice oranges into 1/4-1/5 inch thick rounds.
Place the oranges in a suitable container and pour boiling water over them, leave for 2-3 minutes. Then drain the water and pat the oranges dry with paper towels.
This is necessary to remove bitterness.
In a saucepan, combine granulated sugar, vanilla sugar, and water. Place the saucepan on the stove and heat the syrup until the sugar is dissolved.
Transfer oranges to a cooking vessel, for me it's a large skillet, pour the prepared syrup over them, turn on low heat and cook for 1.5 hours. Occasionally gently stir and flip them to evenly caramelize. The peel on the oranges should become almost transparent.
At this stage, you can add cinnamon to the oranges while pouring the syrup, I did not add any.
Take a baking sheet, line it with foil, cover with a wire rack, and place the oranges on it after removing them from the syrup. Place the oranges in an oven preheated to 130 degrees Fahrenheit for about 30 minutes.
Depending on your oven, the drying time for the oranges may be slightly less or slightly more. They should dry well and hold their shape.
Allow the oranges to cool completely, and then you can dip them in chocolate. Melt the chocolate in the microwave in 10-15 second intervals or using a double boiler.
Place the chocolate-covered oranges on a piece of plastic wrap or parchment paper and allow the chocolate to set.
Caramelized oranges in chocolate are ready! Enjoy!
