This onion side dish is a perfect complement to meat dishes. The recipe is very quick, the onions come out soft, sweet with a hint of balsamic flavor. White onions are used in the recipe, they are juicier, but yellow onions will also work. By the way, this dish can be served separately as an appetizer!
White Onion
2 large (each about 3 inches in diameter)
Sugar
1.5 tbsp
Vinegar
5 tsp (balsamic)
Sunflower Oil
1/3 cup (refined)
Salt
2 pinches
To prepare caramelized onion in balsamic vinegar, peel and slice the onion into rings, not too thinly. Separate the rings.
Then sauté the onion in sunflower oil for 5-7 minutes over medium heat. Constantly stir the onion to make it soft without browning.
Next, add balsamic vinegar, salt, sugar, and mix. Sauté for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve caramelized onion in balsamic vinegar as a side dish to meat.
