Recipe of Indian cuisine - beautiful, delicious flatbreads, incredibly easy to make. Optionally, you can sprinkle them with sesame seeds or cheese. Despite the simple set of ingredients, these flatbreads turn out fluffy and so tasty!
Flour
2 cups (white wheat)
Baking Soda
1 tsp
Salt
1 tsp
Sugar
1 tbsp
Kefir
1.5 cups (buttermilk, yogurt, or kefir)
Sunflower Oil
for frying
To prepare Indian flatbreads Bhature, mix flour with sugar, salt, and baking soda. Then add kefir and knead the dough. Check the consistency, if the dough is too soft - add more flour, and if it's dense - add more kefir. Then grease your hands with vegetable oil and knead the dough again.
Optionally, white wheat flour can be combined with coarse flour.
Divide the dough into balls 2-3 inches in diameter.
Sprinkle the table with flour and roll out each ball into a flatbread 6 inches in diameter. Place the flatbread on a preheated skillet with vegetable oil and fry on both sides until golden brown.
Once ready, dab the Bhature flatbreads with a paper towel and serve.
