To make potatoes Savoy-style, thinly slice the potatoes and lay them in a baking dish. Arrange the potatoes evenly on the bottom of the dish.
Whisk a cup of milk with eggs and add grated cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
You can add a pinch of nutmeg.
Pour this mixture over the potatoes and bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees Fahrenheit. Serve the Potatoes Savoy-style hot, optionally with sour cream.
