Today I am sharing with you a simple, delicious, and healthy recipe for baked mackerel (I usually make mackerel this way most of the time).

Mackerel is not only delicious but also very beneficial fish. It is rich in vitamins (especially B12 and PP), minerals (sodium, phosphorus, chromium, iodine), and microelements. It is a source of omega-3 fatty acids, which boost the body's protective functions. This fish is especially beneficial for children, pregnant women, and nursing mothers.

Mackerel is a rather fatty fish with a special oily taste, which is beautifully complemented by the acidity of baked tomatoes and lemon. As a result, we will get a delicious dish that can be made in about 20 minutes. 

Frozen Mackerel

To prepare baked mackerel, wash and clean the fish in the usual way (remove the head, fins, and guts). Rinse the fish well, pat dry with paper towels, and cut into slices 1.5-2 inches thick.
Slice the onion and tomatoes into thin slices.
Take a baking dish (any will do) and line it with parchment paper. Arrange the fish, placing tomato and onion slices between the pieces.
Drizzle some vegetable oil on top, season with salt and pepper to taste. Also, squeeze lemon juice on top. If you have sesame seeds, sprinkle a little on top for a beautiful and crunchy texture (optional).
Bake the mackerel in the oven at 180 degrees Fahrenheit for 20-25 minutes. If your oven has different settings, use the grill with convection option. Ovens vary, so adjust according to yours. Enjoy your meal!
